Ahan restaurant to relocate to Williamson St. this fall

Pan-Asian Ahan restaurant plans to move from its current space inside The Bur Oak music venue on Madison’s Winnebago Street to a new, much large location in the former Eldorado spot at 744 Williamson St., according to the Wisconsin State Journal.

Owner Jamie Brown-Soukaseume in January became a semifinalist for a James Beard award in the category of “emerging chef,” and the restaurant saw bigger crowds and higher demand following the recognition. Ahan has also been unable to serve alcohol inside The Bur Oak as the venue has an exclusive bar and liquor license for that address.

The new location will offer additional seating with a 100 indoor capacity, a bar, and an outdoor patio. Brown-Soukaseume hopes to sign the lease on the space this week, obtain a liquor license in September, and open near the start of October.

Menu staples will remain the same, and a few specials and additions may be incorporated as well.
