After-school youth program opens three sites

First Tee–South Central Wisconsin announced the opening of three learning center locations this fall as part of its after-school reading and math programming, according to a release from the organization. The after-school programs were put on hold in March 2020 due to the pandemic, and since then revamped to serve children in grades kindergarten through five at the new Cherokee Country Club, Odana Hills Golf Course, and East Madison Community Center locations. A partnership with Madison Metropolitan School District provides opportunities to serve kids at the learning centers several times a week, with some youth attending every day. The program serves at-risk youth, and more than 83% of program participants are eligible for free and reduced lunch.
