A sober bar? Noosh reinvents itself again

The latest reincarnation of the near west restaurant Noosh will be as a “sober bar,” according to a report in The Capital Times, and the concept will become apparent Thursday evening as owner Laila Borokhim’s has a soft relaunch.

Borokhim acknowledged that Noosh will be constantly reinventing itself, this time as a place for nearby students and others to gather when they want to hang out late, after the coffee shops have closed, and partake in nonalcoholic beverages.

Since opening in 2016 in a former Taco Bell on South Park Street, Noosh has had a stint as a food cart and later opened in quonset hut on Regent Street, serving a menu of what Borokhim called “Jewified world cuisine.” Now she hopes the sober bar concept, already prevalent in larger cities, can work on Regent Street.
