Willy Street Co-op workers to hold union vote

Workers at Willy Street Co-op and the co-op’s offsite kitchen will vote next week on whether to be represented by a union, according to a report in The Capital Times.

After filing a petition with the National Labor Relations Board to request a union election, they will cast secret ballots to decide whether to be represented by the United Electrical, Radio, and Machine Workers of America. Should they vote in the affirmative, the issues that could be subject to collective bargaining include starting wages, changing grievance procedures, and penalties for workers who miss work due to illness.
