Report cites severe decline of Wisconsin unions

Union membership in Wisconsin has drastically declined thanks to Republican efforts to curtail them, according to the annual “State of Working Wisconsin” report issued annually by the University of Wisconsin–Madison's Center on Wisconsin Strategy.

Citing the report, an article in The Capital Times says union membership has plummeted by 53.9 percent, more than double the decline nationally, since the 2011 passage of Act 10, the law that stripped public unions of bargaining rights, and passage of a right-to-work law in 2015 that allows union workers to decline to pay dues.

People who don’t pay their union to protect them expect to be represented by a union for free? What’s wrong with this picture?
