Nomad World Pub relocating to Brickhouse building
True to its name, Nomad World Pub is moving from the historic Cardinal Bar space it occupied for nearly three years to the 9,000-square-foot, three-story former Brickhouse BBQ at 408 W. Gorham, nearer to State Street.
Owner Mike Eitel has developed a reputation at Nomad for attracting an international soccer crowd, sometimes as early as 6 a.m. on weekends when live professional games are televised here. The drawback, however, was not having a kitchen, according to a Wisconsin State Journal article.
The new Nomad will change that, and offer three floors of entertainment, from a soccer-themed restaurant/pub on the first floor, to games like pool tables and foosball on level two, and space for private parties, dancing, and an outdoor patio on the top level. With 16 TVs indoors plus one on the outdoor patio, each floor will also be able to host different crowds when sports matches or television schedules conflict.
Pending a city health department review, Eitel hopes to offer a sneak peek this weekend.
Plans for the former Cardinal Bar building are up in the air, but Eitel may develop a new concept called Nightshop, or sublet it.
