Sales up for Duluth Trading, Lands' End
With a dozen more retail stores open for business compared to last year, Belleville-based Duluth Trading Co. reported an increase in sales during its second fiscal quarter that ended July 30.
Profits came in at $4.3 million (13 cents/share) for the quarter compared to $3.6 million (11 cents/share) for the same period in 2016.
Revenues jumped to $86.2 million this year compared to $65.8 million a year ago.
Second quarter results were more mixed for Dodgeville-based Lands’ End.
In its second fiscal quarter ending July 28, Lands’ End reported a boost in sales for the first time in three years.
Revenue came in at $302.2 million, up from $292 million a year ago, but losses widened.
The clothing company reported a net loss of $3.9 million (12 cents/share), doubling last year’s loss of $2 million (6 cents/share).
The company also has 20 fewer Sears store locations this year compared to last.
