Visions strip club agrees to 90-day shutdown
After Madison’s Alcohol License Review Committee decided to throw out most of the city’s complaints against Visions Nightclub in September because they were too old and difficult to prove, an agreement has been reached.
Visions, the city’s only strip club, will surrender its liquor license and temporarily close for 90 days beginning at 5 p.m. on Jan. 1, according to a Wisconsin State Journal report. The agreement also comes with a list of conditions the club owners must post for all to see related to new rules for weapons screening that applies to staff and patrons, as well.
After Visions’ longtime owner, Tom Reichenberger, passed away in March, the nightclub was purchased by the Silk Group, owner of Silk Exotic night clubs in Middleton and Milwaukee. The transition to the Silk brand will also be occurring during that 90-day window.
The committee’s recommendation now goes before the ALRC and then to the Madison City Council for approval.
