Initial OK given to downtown apartments

Yet another proposed apartment project is on the approval track, as the Madison Urban Design Commission last week gave initial approval to a plan for five-story building in the 600 block of West Washington Avenue, according to an article in The Capital Times.

The apartment building, being developed by Kirk Keller of Plunkett Raysich Architects, would replace a Mobil gas station and Kelley’s Market with ground-floor commercial space, underground parking, and 50 apartment units.

Since the Commission’s approval was initial, not final, the matter will return to Urban Design for final approval after it’s reviewed by the Madison Plan Commission.
