Do you have designs on our CDAs?
From the pages of In Business magazine.
Those of you who have been reading my column for a while know that I try to use this space to inform our readers on opportunities within our IB products that will allow you to connect with other local business professionals, as well as opportunities to receive recognition for the great work you are doing.
If there is one recognition program though that I have probably given the least amount of attention to in this space, it would be our Commercial Design Awards. The CDAs are our second-longest running event, as we are now heading into our 13th year of putting on this program for the commercial architecture, design, and construction industries. It’s safe to say that we’ve ridden the roller coaster with this industry over those 13 years, as we’ve weathered the tough years during the recession and seen it come all the way back. This awards program honors the Madison area’s influence on the best in commercial architecture and design throughout Wisconsin, and, the criteria for eligibility are pretty simple:
- Projects must have been completed by an architecture, engineering, or construction firm with a physical office in Dane, Columbia, Dodge, Green, Iowa, Jefferson, Rock, or Sauk counties.
- Completion of the project must have taken place between Jan. 1, 2019 and Dec. 31, 2019.
- The project must be located in the state of Wisconsin.
We have a multitude of different categories that design/construction companies can submit their projects into, including office, retail, multiunit residential, and mixed-use. We even have categories for outdoor landscaping, most innovative green solution, and most innovative feature. If you work with an architecture, engineering, or construction firm in one of these eight counties, we highly encourage you to check out the awards web page at www.IBMadison.com/CDA. All of the entry materials can be found there, and the deadline to enter your projects for the 2020 program is Jan. 15, 2020.
IB will then work with a panel of design experts (from outside of the area) to judge and select the winning projects in each category, and we’ll unveil the winners at an event in early April.
We look forward to shining a light on just some of the amazing design talent that we have in this region again in 2020!
