Alliant Energy Center plans could cost $300M+
The Dane County committee overseeing a proposed redevelopment of the 164-acre Alliant Energy Center campus unveiled a master plan from Perkins+Will that would cost about $305 million in its first phase.
The public-private spending proposal would fill the corner of Rimrock and John Nolen Drive with hotels, office space, housing, and restaurants, and offer naming rights, as well. According to a Wisconsin State Journal story, the plan suggests expanding Exhibition Hall, tearing down and building a new arena, and adding mixed-use development and two hotels for conference attendees, but the New Holland Pavilions would remain largely untouched.
Next up: how to finance the project.
