Mallards cut ties with Chick-fil-A

The Madison Mallards canceled a promotion with Chick-fil-A over the restaurant chain’s anti-LGBTQ stance, saying the Mallards have always been about fun and inclusion, according to the Wisconsin State Journal.

Chick-fil-A is the most generous restaurant in town when it comes to donations and helping non-profits. They are inclusive to ALL when it comes to all things done locally to help Madison.

Mallards management needs to focus on and stick to entertainment, and stay out of social politics. Independent local chic-fil-a franchisors consistently serve and give back to their communities.

Kudos to the Mallards for taking a principled stand on LGBTQ rights. Like it or not, local Chick-fil-A franchisees have chosen to hitch their wagon to this far-right company's support of intolerance. There are plenty of other locally owned companies that also give back very generously and don't associate themselves with wing-nut politics. (Try Culvers!) I'll admit, Chick-fil-A makes a fine chicken sandwich, but it leaves a very bad aftertaste that isn't worth the price.

Chick-fil-A is a horrible company and I am very pleased to see the Mallards cut ties with them.

Thank you, Mallards.
