What are the most challenging and rewarding aspects of your job and why?
Each day is a new experience! Madison and its surrounding communities are filled with energy, vitality, and continued growth. Intriguing people from all walks of life, be it corporate, commercial, philanthropic, civic, or nonprofit, bring a renewed vibrancy to the future of all who live, work, and play in this beautiful region. The most rewarding aspect of my role as business development manager is engaging with our most valued resource — our clients and business partners within our community — and helping them achieve growth and success. We don’t just build buildings; we help build communities, and we keep the organization’s mission at the center of what we do.
Who do you look up to or admire in business and why?
My first employer at the age of 14. Her name was Nancy Reidy, and to this day, she laid the foundation for a strong work ethic, determination, tenacity, and vision. She emphasized the importance of exemplary customer service, as well as taking pride in a job well done. And, she loved then, and still does, all things canine.
What has been the high point of your career so far?
Today! Being new to the construction industry, I have enthusiasm and unbridled energy to learn all I can each day and connect with dynamic and diverse clients and business partners. To be involved in the growth and ultimately the economic health of a community is the ultimate reward.
Thinking back on your career, what advice would you give your 21-year-old self?
Set no boundaries. Set no limits. Be the voice for those who cannot speak. Be true to yourself. Every day is a gift.
