Latest D4AD project completed

On Oct. 14, the East Madison Community Center (EMCC) leadership team, board members, and program participants gathered with the all-volunteer design team, FLOOR360, Design for a Difference spokesperson Mark Brunetz, and representatives from the International Design Guild to celebrate the "new" re-designed facility. The process began in April when volunteers from the Madison design community joined the design team and soon after met with EMCC staff to determine their needs and wish lists to create a design plan for all their spaces. The design team and FLOOR360 then reached out to their partners and local businesses to donate time, funds, materials, and labor to make the design plans a reality. During two weeks in October, the staff moved out and a volunteer army moved in to complete the process. In the end, 12,800 square feet of space was covered with new flooring, 44 design team members worked around the clock, painters painted, installers installed, helpers helped, and 250 area businesses donated to provide a makeover valued over $600,000.
