Visually impaired gallery night

On Friday, Oct. 5, the Wisconsin Council of the Blind & Visually Impaired hosted a gallery night featuring artists who are blind or visually impaired. Works ranged from pencil sketches to watercolor, and paper cutting to large oil-painted canvases. The event was a part of the Madison Museum of Contemporary Art (MMoCA) seasonal gallery nights and one of nearly 70 locations throughout the city featuring art and entertainment. Participating artists talked to guests about how they create art and what sparked their interest in becoming artists. The event also featured music by a guitarist/songwriter who is visually impaired. The exhibit is free and open to the public through Friday, Nov. 16 during business hours, 8 a.m.to 4:30 p.m. at the Wisconsin Council of the Blind & Visually Impaired, 754 Williamson St. in Madison.
