Ultimate Culture Conference

Human Synergistics Inc. and the Wisconsin School of Business Center for Professional and Executive Development collaborated to host the 1st Regional Ultimate Culture Conference on Sept. 17 at the Fluno Center. Over 125 attendees were able to learn from local leaders and consultants who are collaborating with leadership teams to change or evolve the cultures of their organizations, including Marti Wronski, senior vice president of the Milwaukee Brewers, and Angie Zeigler, vice president of talent management for Oshkosh Corp. Attendees were also able to experience an interactive, small-group learning approach designed to help leaders and other change agents understand and act on the complexities of culture, leadership, and the connection to performance and organizational success called the Culture Journey Learning Map. A unique and rather moving closing session featured TED Talks and a panel discussion about overcoming significant challenges while positively impacting organizational and community change, featuring Tricia Downing, the first female paraplegic to complete an Ironman Triathlon, along with Madison Police Department Chief Michael Koval, and UW–Madison Assistant Dean for Diversity and Inclusion Binnu Palta Hill. The event wrapped up with a networking happy hour at Smitty’s Study Pub, where guests were able to enjoy Wisconsin-exclusive cheeses paired with One Barrel Brewing Company’s craft beers, and help select the “1st Regional Ultimate Culture Cheese/Beer Championship Combo.” For information on getting your event featured in the IB Gallery, email jason@ibmadison.com.)
