Presenting Yourself to One or Many: Presenting for Influence

Effective speaking is a key skill for the successful manager. Learn tips to strengthen that skill in many different settings. Review how to use everyday occasions to enhance your personal presence. Develop skills to improve your formal speeches and to interview effectively with the media. Ample opportunity for practice plus exercises for continuing to improve on your own.

 

Desired learning outcomes

By the end of this class you should be able to:

  1. Explain the relationship between presenter, audience and style—and the importance of each in interpersonal communication
  2. Describe and apply the 3 questions in planning interpersonal communication projects
  3. Describe and apply the 4 different credibility-enhancing influence powers
  4. Use presentation software such as PowerPoint or Google Slides to deliver an influential message in effective style
