Could Epic lose $624M federal contract?
Epic Systems Corp. may lose a huge contract designed for military veterans, hints U.S. Rep. Jim Banks, chairman of the House Veterans’ Affairs Subcommittee on Technology Modernization, according to a report in the Wisconsin State Journal.
If true, Epic would lose out to Cerner, its major competitor, on a software product for the U.S. military.
The Verona-based Epic received the go-ahead for its Cadence program last year and the pilot program, which allows vets to schedule and cancel their own appointments, has been met with positive reviews.
Epic employs 9,800 workers in Dane County.
