State dairy industry strong and growing
The latest report from UW–Madison shows the state’s dairy industry leading all other agricultural business in the state.
Dairy has an economic impact of $45.6 billion, supports 154,000 jobs, and pumps $1.26 billion in taxes into the state and local economy.
The latest UW report, “Contribution of Agriculture to the Wisconsin Economy” is updated is based on 2017 data, the latest available. Dairy’s agricultural impact has grown from $88.3 billion to $104.8 billion and represents 16.4 percent of Wisconsin’s total revenue.
