North side mixed-use project proposed

MSP Real Estate is proposing a mixed-income housing complex on the former site of a Heritage Credit Union. The project would also include some commercial space on the first floor.

The 111-unit complex, at 1212 Huxley St., would be designed primarily for seniors and families. Most of the units would target individuals earning 30, 50, and 60 percent of Dane County’s median income.

If approved, it would be the third affordable housing project from MSP in Madison, with Normandy Square, 6509 Normandy Lane, and The Grove Apartments, 204 Cottage Grove Road, both underway.

The developer wants to open in the summer of 2022.
