IB seeks your input on two new features
From the pages of In Business magazine.
With summer quickly fading away, it’s time for IB to look ahead to a couple of new features that we’ll introduce in the fourth quarter. While these are features that mostly will be researched by our editorial team, they are also two features on which we would love to get reader feedback.
- Companies to Watch: This feature will be included in our November edition, and our goal is to highlight and connect you with some of the local companies that are poised for big things in 2020 and beyond. Some companies might fall into that early-stage startup category, while others might be more established businesses that are ready to explode into the next level of their industry category. Some may be launching a groundbreaking new product, while others might be more service based. Either way, we’d love to get your feedback on the local companies that you have your eye on as we head into 2020.
- Business Person of the Year: This new feature will debut in our December edition, and with this we are looking to highlight one individual who has had the biggest impact on the local business market in 2019. Maybe it’s an individual whose impact has greatly increased economic development in the region, or perhaps an individual who has come in and resurrected a struggling company and thus saved many local jobs from going away. We’re simply looking for an individual who had the greatest impact on the Greater Madison business region during the 2019 calendar year.
Our IB editorial team will be making the final selections for both of these new features. While we’ve been compiling a list of prospects throughout the year for both, there is one consideration with all of our feature presentations: We really value reader feedback, and we’re sure there are plenty of great untold stories for these features. So, if you have either a company that you know is on the verge of huge things in 2020 and beyond, or an individual who you think we should consider for our 2019 Business Person of the Year, we’d love to hear from you. Just email your suggestions to IB editorial director Joe Vanden Plas (firstname.lastname@example.org) by Friday, Aug. 30, and provide a brief explanation
of why you think the nominee should be considered. As always, we appreciate your input!
