McGee’s Chicken to open in Sun Prairie

McGee's Chicken is opening a second location, this time in Sun Prairie. By Nov. 1, owner Esperdell McGee, a Sun Prairie resident, hopes to open the soul food, fast-food restaurant at 950 W. Main St., a space he is renovating. McGee’s first location, which is located on Park Street in Madison, opened two years ago.

Madison-area Whole Foods customers will now be able to receive deliveries at home thanks to a joint agreement between Whole Foods and Amazon, which purchased the health and organic-food retailer in 2017.

Koi Sushi will get liquor license after all

The Madison City Council overrode Mayor Paul Soglin’s veto to allow Koi Sushi at 502 State St. to serve liquor, granting instead a license with a number of conditions, including a requirement to stop selling liquor earlier than most establishments each night.

A nine-story boutique hotel at the top of State Street has been approved on a voice vote from the Madison City Council.
