Arrowhead Pharma signs $250M deal

California-based Arrowhead Pharmaceuticals, which has most of its employees in Madison, has signed a $250 million deal with Janssen Pharmaceuticals that could grow to $3.7 billion. Janssen, a unit of Johnson & Johnson, would develop and commercialize Arrowhead’s latest product, a three-injection regime designed to treat Hepatitis B.

Understory to raise $6.5 million

The Madison weather technology startup Understory has raised more than $6.5 million funding from eight investors, according to a report in Xconomy, although the size of the round could reach $8.2 million when completed. Understory operates weather-station networks that use technology to analyze and measure local weather data to better understand how weather events cause property damage.
