Supply and demand: Vogel supplies, schools demand

The program has grown to the point where he can get most of the help online. Except for PayPal’s fees for online contributions, every cent of every dollar is used to purchase school supplies. Pass the word, and you can help kids show up at school with one less worry.

To donate, visit the following website: http://vogelbldg.com/community/school_supplies_for_kids.php

The cause also is on Facebook. Like it at www.facebook.com/SchoolSuppliesForKids and share it with friends and community contacts.

You can also mail your donation to Madison Urban Ministry, one of several program partners, at P.O. Box 7696, Madison, WI 53707-7696, and mark it “School Supplies.” MUM is one of several program partners, as it accepts donations, provides the organization with a tax-exempt status on the supplies, and gives those who donate a deduction for income-tax purposes.

In addition to Vogel Bros., other partners include: Shopko Department Stores, which provides the school supplies at a huge discount and delivers them to Vogel Bros.; Mead & Hunt, Inc., which provides financial support and all of the labor to sort the supplies for distribution; Firefighters Local 311, which provides financial support and assists with delivery of supplies; UPS, which assists with the deliveries to rural area schools; and numerous Dane County area businesses, foundations, and individuals.

For more information, call School Supplies for Kids at 608-241-5454 or email ssfk@vogelbldg.com.
