Insurance Services Group envisions Get Fit victory

What you visualize is what you actualize, and right now I’m visualizing a lot — maybe even too much! But I’m excited to share my personal visualizations and share what my Insurance Services Group teammates and I intend to take away from the Get Fit Challenge.

Fleet Feet’s Get Fit team gets running start

I’m Matthew Reller, and I work at Fleet Feet Sports Madison. I’m sure a few of you are wondering why a team from a running store needs to be worried about its fitness, but let me be the first to say that I am far from where I want to be when it comes to conditioning. I know this may come across as lip service, but I am the newest full-time staffer, and I’m a novice when it comes to running.

Agency partner gets down to business of fitness

Since I started on the fitness challenge about three weeks ago, the main thing I’ve learned is that you have to figure out what is a reasonable starting point for a workout. How much should you push yourself? That question is even more pertinent when taking into consideration that structured exercise hasn’t been part of my daily routine since college.

DWD consultant gets working on weight loss

My name is LaShana Miller. I am one of the five female contestants chosen to participate in this year’s Get Fit individual challenge. I would like to thank the organizers of this competition for selecting me. The In Business Get Fit Challenge IS AN AWESOME OPPORTUNITY! With the help given during the competition, I am on my way to achieving my weight-loss goal. For a very long time I have wanted to lose weight. I have thought about it, dreamed about it, thought about it some more, and continued to dream about it. However, I have never followed through on making it a reality.

‘Sedentary geek’ gets moving toward better health

When I was in high school, I was a typical geek: sedentary, played video games, read a great deal, loved board games, and generally surrounded myself with people who were like me. As someone who went to three different high schools in three different states, I forced myself to be more outgoing than I might be naturally by jumping into theater, speech, and debate.

Are you ready for equity crowdfunding in Wisconsin?

Wisconsin has jumped to the front of the pack in equity crowdfunding. On Nov. 7, state lawmakers passed legislation allowing for intrastate crowdfunding in Wisconsin. The law is expected to go into effect on June 1. Is your company ready for its crowdfunding campaign?

Raising the minimum wage will kill jobs

Mary Burke’s support of the proposal to raise the minimum wage to $10.10 per hour might make for good politicking in her campaign for governor, but her plan would be economically devastating to thousands of Wisconsin workers.

Less cake for Drake: Our fitness challenge begins!

At Drake & Company Staffing Specialists, we’re always working hard to find the right fit for both job applicants and companies in the Madison area — and this hard work often has us sitting at our desks for most of the day. Our sedentary office life leads to a fair number of lunches at our desks, and although we try our hardest, we often order out — a Panera Bread is less than 20 steps from our door (if you take the elevator, which we often do), and within a few blocks there’s Fraboni’s on Regent, Qdoba, and a new place, OSS Madison, that serves the most amazing sausages and hand-cut fries.

Be aware of changes to environmental requirements

Real estate professionals frequently deal with a number of environmental regulations, programs, and authorizations when purchasing, remediating, and developing property in Wisconsin. They might need to assess the property for evidence of contamination, seek closure after remediation of a spill of hazardous substances on the property, obtain permits for work in or around wetlands or navigable waterways, submit information for an environmental assessment, or undertake mitigation measures for endangered species.
