Going green, but not with Bernie Sanders envy

What a span of beautiful weather! The indentured servants at the Stately Manor were given leave to observe the super blood moon eclipse Sunday night. A good pair of binoculars really improved the picture.

Pope Francis promotes Republican values: life and opportunity

On my television screen Thursday morning, the Pope’s pure white garments glowed from the dark-hued chambers of the House of Representatives.

Scott Walker leads from behind

Well, that was quick. Something like 71 days between Scott Walker’s July 13 announcement in Waukesha that he was running for the Republican nomination for president, which I attended, seeing him soar to front-runner status, and yesterday’s crashing and burning to a mere asterisk. Scott Walker, go to Ferguson!

But first, what a great post-Labor Day weekend! Packers start out the season with James Jones and a rare opening day win. Badgers right the ship in cool and sunny Madison.

Black lies matter

Donald Trump is tapping a vein of bile over illegal immigration. But the far greater threat to this nation is the internecine carnage in America’s black, inner city neighborhoods. The candidate who faces this issue head-on deserves to be elected president; I don’t care if s/he is a Democrat.

Wisconsin classroom refugees fleeing for Germany

Our liberal-progressive-socialist acquaintances preach end times due to Republican misrule but the predicted Armageddon never seems to arrive. Funny how that works.

‘We need to start killing these officers’

Scott Walker should continue his frank discussion of race relations and the primacy of personal responsibility in an opportunity society. And Mayor Paul Soglin should begin.
