11/25/14The Ferguson verdict reflects a split-screen AmericaThe split screens on the all-news cable TV channels Monday night reflected the political divide in America today. There was President Obama on the right half of the screen, the nation’s first black president, pleading for calm while seeming to indict the Ferguson legal system. The left side of the screen depicted a police car billowing fire in Ferguson, Mo. Posted at 11:50 AM | Permalink | Comments: 10 |

11/24/14No union contracts, no problems in Dane CountyCollective bargaining died in Dane County and the world didn’t end. Which is not to say that the usual gang of Cassandras aren’t forecasting falling skies. “Joe Parisi has got to go,” Madame Brenda wails. A comment posted at madison.com threatens a labor strike. 11/21/14Dane County obeys Act 10; won’t collect no union duesDoes Dane County government have better lawyers than the Madison school district? Or just a commitment to obeying the law as duly constituted? Following the dictates of Wisconsin Act 10, Dane County government will no longer deduct union dues from the paychecks of some 2,500 employees spread out among seven labor unions, beginning with the December payroll. 11/20/14The party of progress overrules the votersThe President of the United States prepares today to go full Mussolini and impose immigration rules by executive fiat. The Madison Common Council knows what is best, so it is poised to prohibit consenting adults from using a substance that has not been proven harmful to non-users — vaping smokeless e-cigarettes. Rule by self-appointed experts. Progressives nationwide are joining with professor Jonathan “Hans” Gruber in demeaning those stupid gun- and religion-clinging voters who, once again, proved democracy is not working by voting wrong. You know it’s bad when even Dana Milbank frets that “Democrats are becoming more willing to purge those who aren’t ideologically pure.” As the Wall Street Journal editorialized this morning,... 11/18/14Upon further review, the ruling on Nov. 4 standsThe graybacks among us may remember when the soccer moms voted in Bill Clinton, when the religious right elected George W. Bush. Now, a species once heretofore thought near politically extinct is being credited for the Republican onslaught on Nov. 4: old white men. Posted at 08:22 AM | Permalink | Comments: 14 |

11/14/14Elections? Progressives don’t need no stinkin’ elections!Convincing each other of their own superiority, the progressives who forcibly occupied the Capitol in late winter 2011 chanted, “This is what democracy looks like.” Posted at 11:29 AM | Permalink | Comments: 13 |

11/12/14Three Walker victories in four years? Blame the voters, blame the nonvoters, blame George W. Bush!Your humble squire, dark ops operative for the Great Conservative Conspiracy, has been in a good mood this past week. High-fivin’ and jive-talkin’ my handler, the horribly disfigured half-Koched brother, Alec. Posted at 01:15 PM | Permalink | Comments: 16 |

11/10/14Want to go aggressive, Scott Walker and Wisconsin Republicans? Take over the Milwaukee schoolsIn stark contrast to Washington, D.C., Wisconsin does not suffer divided government. For the third time in four years, Wisconsin voters have chosen Scott Walker. In three successive election cycles, voters have entrusted both houses of the Legislature to his Republican allies. 11/06/14After losing Tuesday’s election battle, the sore loser Left is fighting the peaceMary Burke’s concession speech Tuesday night was gracious and conciliatory. Too bad many of her supporters could not take a page from it. Worse, many of the supposed deep thinkers in the party — so thoroughly rebuked in Tuesday’s elections — want to double down on demon rum progressivism, the very elixir that doomed so many Democrats. 11/05/14Time for our Democratic acquaintances to come to JesusDoing analysis for WMTV-15 on election night, news anchors Leigh Mills and John Stofflet asked if Scott Walker, victorious for the third time in four years, would reach out to Democrats in the Legislature. 11/04/14Scott Walker’s re-election today will crazy up the craziesWill Scott Walker be elected governor of Wisconsin for the third time in four years? The answer is yes. Walker will win because Professor Charles Franklin’s Marquette Law school poll says so — and by the same 7-point margin Walker won the recall election, by the very margin Franklin called then. Walker will win because The Capital Times poll still shows Burke stubbornly ahead. Posted at 08:15 AM | Permalink | Comments: 4 |

11/03/14Heritage news media is caught Burke-nappingOur winner-take-all political system decrees that some will be winners in Tuesday’s fall elections, others will be losers. The one sure loser is Wisconsin’s mainstream news media. They will be repudiated. Posted at 09:23 AM | Permalink | Comments: 24 |
