Honey, I sorted the leftist news media

First, some Super Bowl chatter: The indentured servants here at the Stately Manor enjoyed the Super Bowl, lopsided as it was. That was the real surprise, that the Seahawks could be so much better than the Broncos. But why so many run plays when you’ve got Peyton Manning, who rarely threw downfield? Good for Radio Shack joshing its behind-the-times image with all those ’80s characters, like Cliff Clavin and Hulk Hogan. Who expected to see Bob Dylan doing a commercial? But it was for a good cause, Detroit. Jerry Seinfeld does look much older these days, but do catch his online comedy/interview program, Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee. It is exactly that. Seinfeld, a world-class car collector, drives a car then goes for coffee with the likes of Alec Baldwin, Mel Brooks, and Carl Reiner. A real coup for AmFam to get Russell Wilson in a very glossy spot. I have a feeling his price just went up.

The Squire feeds heavily at the news media banquet. Confounding the haters, Blaska hears no Rush and observes Mr. O’Reilly but rarely. Instead, he spends a surprising amount of quality time among the redistributionists, the victim lobby, and the nanny-staters. Know your adversaries, people!

With a boost from Old Sparky, our Eisenhower-era Univac mainframe computer, the Policy Werkes developed a scatter chart of leftist voices here in Wisconsin and nationally. The accompanying scatter chart has two vectors. The vertical axis measures degree of progressivism; the horizontal the level of viciousness.

The chart illustrates a disturbing pattern: the more Marxist the politics, the more vitriolic their discourse. Walker Derangement Syndrome accounts for some of the mental dysfunction, but one suspects that some of these personalities brought their own bad juju to the party.

For instance, Madison-based Deke Rivers (Greg Humphrey) at Caffeinated Politics is a reliable blue-fister. But he actually upbraided a fellow lefty for an online death threat against Gov. Walker. His politics fall on the Marxist side of the chart but he retains — at long last, sir — some sense of human decency.

No such problem at Cognitive Dissidence, where Milwaukee County government employee Chris Liebenthal, once disciplined for blogging on the taxpayers’ dime, is joined by Monona School Board member and Liberal of the Year Jeff Simpson. Their blog proudly advertises that they are “King[s] of the Hate Left.”

MSNBC’s Chris Matthews is something of an anomaly. He is a fairly mainstream Democrat, with an occasional good word for President Reagan. But his demeanor can be whackier than a Dane County Circuit Court decision, although he recently acknowledged that he no longer feels the Obama thrill up this inner thigh.

"I include former Democratic Party spokesmouth Graeme Zielinski in this pantheon of heavy breathers (BAC not included) because this probable Tourette’s syndrome sufferer is still given credence on liberal talk radio and in the blogosphere."

That's a funny shot, but should a blogger like you provide a link, especially if there's such abundant evidence? As far as I can tell, everybody thinks Zielinski is an absolute joke. They're laughing directly at him, not with him.

That is a great graph, Dave. It is more accurate than anything Paul Krugman or the abacus wielders at the Cap Times have ever published.

You do know that Peyton set a Super Bowl record for most pass completions in a game right?

Dave, I find it amazing that you follow so many news sources, yet seem to learn so little. That takes quite a mindset.

I know your policy on boycotts, so I was hoping there would be something here about the insufferable blowhards advocating a boycott of Girl Scout cookies. Must be in your next blog, right?

You are the one who alleges that I have a "policy" on boycotts.
