$500,000 gift to Edgewood matched

Edgewood College has received $1 million toward a new $13 million residence hall, thanks to a private $500,000 gift from Catherine Zdeblick of Middleton that was matched by an anonymous donor. Zdeblick made the gift in memory of her autistic son AJ, who participated in the college’s Cutting Edge program for students with developmental disabilities. AJ died of natural causes after his freshman year.

Because of Zdeblick’s donation, each year three Cutting Edge students will have the opportunity to live in the new 100-student residence hall.

Construction is scheduled to begin in May, and the residence hall is slated to open in the fall of 2016.
