Commercial Design Awards

Celebrate Design Excellence in 2010

Nearly 40 projects completed in Dane County in the 2009 calendar year vied for In Business magazine's top honors as "Project of the Year," "Winner" and "Merit Award Recipient" at the 2010 awards program.

IB's second annual Commercial Design Awards honored the best building designs in Dane County, selected by a panel of three judges from outside of the Greater Madison influence: Mark C. Fenton, Vice President, Leopardo Companies, Inc., Chicago; Geoffrey Hurtado, Senior Vice President, Irgens Development, Milwaukee; and Bob Greenstreet, former Milwaukee City Planner and current Dean of the School of Architecture & Urban Planning at University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.

The dinner event was held at the Sheraton Madison and featured keynote speaker Tim Cooley, Economic Development Director for the City of Madison, followed by an awards program for winners and merit award recipients in each of 7 categories. From that group of honorees, the Project of the Year was unveiled. UW Hillel - The Barbara Hochberg Center for Jewish Student LIfe took the top honors and became the cover of In Business magazine's May 2010 issue. View all of the winning projects.
