1. What are the most challenging and rewarding aspects of your job and why?
When people come back for a visit and check in years after graduating from Tellurian, we hear things like “Tellurian saved by life” and “If it wasn’t for Tellurian …” It gives me great pride to say that at Tellurian we’ve made a difference in someone’s life.
2. Who do you look up to or admire in business and why?
I most admire my father. My dad’s passion to be an excellent leader always amazed me. He never missed a day of work for being sick and he put in numerous hours to ensure that the job he did was done correctly. He also taught me the importance of doing the right thing and not compromising your values. My wife and I work to instill those same values in our children and the kids I coach.
3. What has been the high point of your career so far?
Receiving my Master of Business Administration (MBA). My high school guidance counselor suggested that maybe going to college “wasn’t the right avenue for me.” Little did she know those words would motivate me to not only graduate from The Ohio State University, but the competitor inside of me stayed strong and I told myself to just keep going and earn my MBA.
4. Thinking back on your career, what advice would you give your 21-year-old self?
Never settle for the status quo; always look to continually improve yourself. Always try to do more and go above your last accomplishment, even if it’s just by a little bit more.
