World Dairy Expo sets new records
The Wisconsin Ag Connection reported that this year’s World Dairy Expo attracted a record number of attendees from over 90 different countries. Breed sales resulted in the World Classic 2012 Holstein Sale averaging $33,111 per lot, which was the highest grossing and averaging sale in Dairy Expo history. (That sale included the $122,000 sale of “Elm-Park Geisha PP-RED-ET” to a buyer in the United Kingdom.) The number of booths sold (860) increased nearly 150 from 2011, and a record number of cows (2,977) were exhibited during the week.
