Small Biz Saturday results posted

A state-by-state analysis of Small Business Saturday shopping, which occurred on Nov. 25, was released by American Express and the National Federation of Independent Businesses (NFIB).

According to the data, 40% of Wisconsin shoppers made their favorite purchases of the day at a bar or restaurant, 21% at a supermarket, 20% in a clothing store, and 19% at a coffee shop.

Most shoppers were accompanied by family members (56%) and also shopped for family members (62%), but 31% of shoppers were alone and shopped for themselves (45%).

The most popular reason given for getting out on Small Business Saturday was to support the local community (66%).
