Granite City Food & Brewery closes

A decision to close Granite City Food & Brewery at West Towne Mall apparently blindsided the staff, all of whom were fired “on the spot” Wednesday, Nov. 1, according to a report on the Wisconsin State Journal website.

Reportedly, two Granite City restaurants in Wichita, Kan. also closed recently.

The restaurant chain is based in Minnesota.

I can understand a company that was going bankrupt, needing to close, but how inhuman to simply lock their employees out with no explaination. I hope that the employee were told how to get their final pay checks? Seems like a really crappy way to leave without a lot of bad feelings!
