State in top 10 for business

Chief Executive magazine has completed its annual survey on the best and worst states for business, based on a survey of 500 CEOs around the country.

Wisconsin jumped seven spots to No. 10, with the publication noting an increase in the number of UW System graduates receiving STEM degrees. The poll also considers workforce quality, taxes, regulations and business incentives, and the living environment, among other factors.

Texas was ranked No. 1, followed by Florida, North Carolina, South Carolina, Indiana, Nevada, Tennessee, Georgia, and Arizona.

The worst states for business were Connecticut at No. 46, followed by New Jersey, Illinois, New York, and California, which came in dead last.

Oddly none in the top 10 are places where I would want to live and work or start a business- I wonder how many other people are like me
