Promega plans $190M expansion
Promega Corp. has announced plans for a $190 million, 270,000-square-foot research and development facility next to its Fitchburg campus. The global biotechnology company wants to build the facility east of its Feynman Center at 2780 Woods Hollow Road, according to a report in the Wisconsin State Journal.
Construction could begin this summer and be completed in 2020 after the Fitchburg City Council approved a tax increment finance district to facilitate the planned expansion. The company and the city still have to determine how much city funding will be committed to the project, but it could be eligible for up to $14.8 million.
Plans call for a 4,800-square-foot central plant and the addition of two floors and 340 stalls to an existing parking structure.
