Eastsiders open seafood store
The retired former owner of Thrift Painting has embarked on a new career. John Kitto and his son Rob, longtime eastsiders, have opened The Lake Edge Seafood Co. at 4100 Monona Drive at the corner of Monona Drive and Buckeye Road.
The 2,650-square-foot space has a 20-foot long seafood counter and a restaurant that opens Jan. 18.
According to a report in the Wisconsin State Journal, the Kittos spent $350,000 to transform the former Cozy Home furniture consignment shop into a nautically themed space. [The Cozy Home has moved to 6330 Monona Drive.]
Rob is the co-owner and general manager of the seafood shop, and Russell Hackworthy has been hired as executive chef.
