Dane County Women's Build

Habitat for Humanity of Dane County held its inaugural Dane County Women’s Build on Sept. 15 to raise awareness for safe, decent, and affordable housing in Dane County. Millions of women and children worldwide are facing a housing crisis, and unfortunately Dane County isn’t exempt from that reality. In Dane County alone one in eight people live in poverty, including 16% of all Dane County children. With stable and affordable housing, families are better equipped to focus on their jobs, education, health, and parenting. Volunteers for the day included Jane Braatz from J. H. Findorff & Son; Sarah Ceponis from United Way of Dane County; Whitney Drewsen from CUNA Mutual Group; Rose Freidel from First Weber Group; Valerie Johnson Renk from Habitat for Humanity; Robyn Kitson from Full Compass; Teresa Kobelt from Kobelt Law Offices; Dannika Lewis from WISC-3 TV; Traci Mann & Andrea Fink from Old National Bank; June Potter from Knight Barry Title Services; Sarah Skalitzky from KEE Architecture; Laura Stanfield from Waterstone Mortgage Corp.; Amy Throndsen from Advanced Comfort Technology; long-time Habitat volunteers Dee Wylie and Chen Yanzhu; Habitat homeowners Lulu Aranda and Christina Jensen; and Habitat board members Ann Raschein and Barbara Robins.
