IB wins prestigious Eddie Award for video series

In Business magazine has won the Folio: magazine Eddie Award for Best B-to-B Video for its 2014 40 Under 40 IBTV interviews.

The award was announced this morning at a special breakfast at the Yale Club in New York City. Alan Sanderfoot, In Business’ associate publisher and creative director, accepted the award in person on behalf of IB’s staff.

“Winning an Eddie Award is one of the greatest honors in magazine publishing,” said Sanderfoot. “It’s a bit intimidating to go up against some of the largest publishers in the country, such as Crain Communications, Meredith, and even The Hollywood Reporter. To be recognized nationally is a huge achievement for the entire In Business staff.”

In Business also received honorable mention in two other categories: B-to-B — Full Issue — General Interest/Enthusiast (for the June 2014 issue) and B-to-B — Series of Articles — General Interest (for On the Job, by IB Departments Editor Jan Wilson).

The Eddie and Ozzie Awards program is the largest awards competition in magazine publishing, drawing more than 2,000 entries from across the industry. It’s open to all magazines, including B-to-B, consumer, custom, and association publications.

Among the finalists this year were industry stalwarts such as Forbes, Entertainment Weekly, People, Reader’s Digest, Glamour, Architectural Digest, and Redbook.

“We at IB are so honored to receive this prestigious national award, and it’s a true testament to all of the fine work being done by the In Business staff on our entire portfolio of products,” said IB Publisher Jon Konarske. “This recognition for our 2014 40 Under 40 video series will give us a tremendous boost as we look to enhance our IBTV product in 2015.”

Congratulations to Alan and the rest of the IB staff! I'm happy to hear that you've submitted work for national recognition and more importantly that it was recognized.
