UPDATE: UnityPoint Health class-action suit includes latest breach

In its second data breach this year, UnityPoint Health, parent of UnityPoint Health - Meriter in Madison is facing another class-action lawsuit related to compromising patient data. An incident discovered on May 31 may have affected 1.4 million patients between March 14 and April 3, including about 76,000 in Wisconsin. Names, addresses, patient records, and more may have been stolen. According to a story in the Wisconsin State Journal, workers were likely duped into believing an electronic message asking for sign-in information came from a company executive.

The original class-action suit has since been amended to include this latest breach. The earlier breach, announced in April, may have affected 16,400 patients.

As a long time patient of Unitypoint Health, I was recently informed by mail that my medical information, social security and all other information in their system regarding my person, has been hacked. I called and they had to admit that my social security was compromised. Today I learned from Experian that there are 4 new credit accounts have been established using my SS#. I'm outraged and stressed out. How do I become part of the class action lawsuit?
