Sun Prairie retailers sue for tax refunds

Claiming they were over-assessed, three big box retailers — Target Corp., Walmart, and Woodman’s — are seeking a refund on their taxes.

According to a story from the Sun Prairie Star, the total refund would be close to $500,000. If they win their cases — and retailers have been successful before — residents, municipalities, and small businesses may have to share the unpaid tax burden.

People need to be contacting their legislators about closing the dark store loophole. It's not a partisan issue and it's going on all over the state, big communities or small.

It's about whether businesses share with other property owners in the health of the communities they do business in! Bob
