Midwest Express to make a comeback?

The Milwaukee Business Journal reports that there could be a revival of Midwest Express Airlines at Milwaukee’s General Mitchell International Airport thanks to a business owner in the Fox Valley.

Reportedly, Curt Drumm, owner of Lakeshore Aviation in Manitowoc, has been working on a plan to revive the airline since January.

In its heyday, Midwest Express was a locally favored carrier known for two-by-two seating, customer care, and chocolate chip cookies.

“So much of that went away, and hasn't come back,” notes the airline’s website, which also promises “convenient destinations for business travelers, roomy seats, Wi-Fi and friendly people who care about you.”

Midwest Express became Midwest Airlines before merging with Frontier Airlines in 2010. Stay tuned!

I for one am very happy about this. I'm hoping that Curt Drumm succeeds in this venture. There was definitely a big gap in the quality of service when Frontier took over. There's no other airline that does what they did at the time. They were also the only ones to fly from Madison to Milwaukee and back. Now if you want to do that, it costs a fortune and you have to go by way of Chicago. I hope this comes to fruition.
