Promega could earn $185K in tax credits

Promega Corp. could earn up to $185,000 in state tax credits as art of its plans to relocate some of its manufacturing facilities from California to Greater Madison, according to the Wisconsin Economic Development Corp.

Midwest Prototyping expands to Colorado

In its first out-of-state acquisition, Blue Mounds-based Midwest Prototyping has expanded to Colorado following the acquisition of Tenere Inc.’s former rapid prototyping division. Tenere, a Wisconsin-based contract manufacturer of custom metal and plastic components and assemblies, ended its rapid prototyping services earlier this year. According to a release, Midwest Prototyping is one of the nation’s largest independent additive manufacturing service bureaus. Steve Grundahl is president and founder.

Spectrum Brands, HRG deal complete

Spectrum Brands has finalized its merger with HRG Group, its majority (62%) shareholder. Reportedly, the deal will not affect Madison operations but it does give the combined companies a bigger pool of shareholders. HRG is a publicly traded holding company based in New York.
