03/31/13Sarah Manski keeps Nan Brien out of court; reports lots of GreenShe blew through Monday’s campaign finance reporting deadline as blithely as she ran – and then quit – her race for Madison School Board. But Sarah Manski has finally made an honest woman of her treasurer and protector of the union-dominated old guard, Nan Brien. Posted at 08:12 AM | Permalink | Comments: 2 |

03/29/13T.J. Mertz: How did Act 10 prevent you from paying your electric bill, and what about your conflict of interest? Thanks to her sudden withdrawal, the only active candidate for Seat 5 on the Madison school board is Sarah Manski-endorsed T.J. Mertz – although both names remain on the ballot. Two troubling issues have emerged. |

03/28/13Paging Sarah Manski: You can’t leave for California just yetIt appears one-time Madison school board candidate Sarah Manski has some homework to do here before departing for California. Monday was the deadline to file campaign finance reports for any funds raised or expenditures made between the last reporting date of Feb. 4 and March 15. Manski was a candidate until Feb. 21 when she said she was quitting the race to move to California. She dropped that bombshell barely two days after knocking out voucher school proponent Ananda Mirilli in a three-way primary. Posted at 06:50 AM | Permalink | Comments: 2 |

03/26/13Write in Ananda Mirilli for Madison School Board Seat #5I am reversing course. I had proposed that everyone check off the name of Sarah Manski, the Madison Political Machine’s plant for Madison School Board in the Tuesday, April 2 spring election. Her name remains on the ballot, after all, and we could make the school board “appoint somebody good,” in the immortal words of Marj Passman. |

03/25/13A colloquy on school choice and government coercion with Ed HughesEd Hughes is one of the more thoughtful liberals in town. We’re lucky to have him on the Madison school board if for no other reason that the alternative could be much worse. There are many more like Marj Passman out there, folks! Mr. Hughes has posted a lengthy post at his must-read blog defending the public school monopoly. Did I say “lengthy”? It is a filibuster. Posted at 08:16 AM | Permalink | Comments: 3 |
