You have a date tomorrow night with destiny
If you aren’t already booked for Wednesday night, there is a discussion taking place about the potential to build a co-working space for women entrepreneurs and work-from-home professionals. What’s co-working? It involves a group of people who come together to share a working environment and resources. It has the professionalism of an office setting and fosters collaboration, socialization, and innovation between independent workers. Services can include access to a conference room and office equipment, professional development opportunities, a kitchen, workout equipment, and much more.
The focus group discussion regarding bringing a co-workspace to Madison (or a Madison suburb) is taking place on Wednesday (yes, tomorrow, Aug. 22) from 6-8 p.m. at Crowne Plaza Hotel, 4402 E. Washington Ave. in Madison. The steering group also informs me that there will be hors d’oeurvres, wine, and soda.
You were supposed to register by Aug. 17 to Jenna Weber (firstname.lastname@example.org), but since I got the information too late for last week’s blog, email her that you read about it here, you are coming, and (I should hope) she’ll waive the preregistration. However, she does need your name, address, email, phone, occupation, and reason or your interest in the subject matter.
Here’s what I know about Jenna. She’s young, she’s full of ideas, she’s got a lot of energy and follow-through, and she’s going to be an area-wide mover and shaker after she gets her teeth into this project. I’ve spoken with her on several occasions, and even I’m tired afterwards! She’s hungry for ideas, she has a lot to offer, and you’ll definitely like her.
This idea of a co-workspace center isn’t new to her – she’s been pursuing it for a while now, and visiting other model centers. Now she wants YOUR input and interest to solidify her plans and move the project forward.
Maybe it’s your first step toward your own business with the benefit of a collaborative team atmosphere.
